DevCon celebrated its 1st year Anniversary last June 25, 2010. With the goal of increasing the quality and quantity of the supply of software development engineering talent for the Philippines, Developers Connect (DEVCON) and PSITE agreed to cooperate in conducting nationwide DEVCON activities within the constituents covered by PSITE and its local affiliations. DEVCON will provide a content kit, coordinate speakers for the events, provide training to local DEVCON, partner with PSITE and its local affiliates to market the events. PSITE, on the other hand, will provide venue for DEVCON activities, provide staffing and volunteers to man the activities, provide attendees to the DEVCON events and partner with DEVCON to market the events. Both will jointly solicit and provide appropriate funding sources based on mutually developed budgets.

8th National Conference on IT Education (NCITE 2010)

The National Conference on Information Technology Education (NCITE) provides a venue to present innovative ideas, approaches, developments and results of research projects in the areas of Information Technology and Technology-based Education. The conference also promotes the exchange of information between researchers, faculty, administrators, and I.T. practitioners.
NCITE 2010 is organized by the Philippine Society of I.T. Educators Foundation, Inc. (PSITE) in coordination with Aklan Catholic College and PSITE Region VI Chapter.

Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished full research papers for presentation at NCITE 2010. The Conference Review Policy requires that each submitted paper will be peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers for inclusion in the conference program and CD-ROM proceedings. A review of all papers is undertaken by the members of the Paper Review Committee to determine the outstanding paper award. One author per paper is required to register and attend the conference to present the paper if accepted.

The full papers are due by August 27, 2010. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by September 13, 2010 via e-mail. Final version of the paper and presentation slides are due on October 4, 2010.

All manuscripts and slides must be submitted electronically, in PDF format and formatted using the ACM templates available at
A maximum of fifteen pages, including an abstract of up to 200 words will be allowed for each accepted paper in the proceeding.

Researchers with limited research output are encouraged to submit a research poster. It is a large document meant to communicate your research in a short period of time. It is composed of a short title, list of authors (and their affiliations), an introduction, an overview of your methods, your results, an insightful discussion of results, and bibliography. The size of the poster shall be A0 (33.1 in × 46.8 in), landscape. The submission date for posters is the same as that of full papers.
